Franco first opened in One Utama and before them there were a host of restaurants that bloomed and passed on in a short period of time so I had doubts if this particular outlet is able to sustain the competition but lo and behold they opened another outlet at IOI city mall and have been growing ever since. I decided to dine there one night and found the French Japanese menu pretty well laid and interesting. They have pancake creations, Souffle Pancakes, rice and pasta dishes as well for non breakfast eaters. Breakfasy for dinner? Sign me up! We ordered a few dishes to share. We had the cream cheese souffle pancakes with whipped cream, baked rice with Japanese curry and the squid ink pasta just because it sounded odd. The pancakes took a while to arrive as I am sure they had to make it from scratch and by order to ensure the pancake puffs up well and sure they did! It was fluffy and light, something you can eat all day without filling up too much stomach space if you ordered the original version. The Baked rice was an interesting take as sausage meat, vegeables and cheese. I just think everything wth cheese looks, smells and tastes awesome but that's just me! The pasta did not look as appetising as it really is probably because of the dark color but it is cooked al dente aglio olio style meaning with just olive oil and dash of herbs with squid rings to seal the deal. I doubt they make their own pasta but it was the way they cook it that rings points.
